The first power plants from a massive investment plan in Chile began to be built by Solek group, which includes Chilean branch PV Power, in the first quarter in the Maule Region and the Valparaíso Region in Chile, namely the Villa Seca, Los Paltos and Santa Fe photovoltaic sources with a total capacity of 16.64 MWp DC. In addition to the three above plants, Solek has also started building projects with a total capacity of up to 70 MWp DC this year.
The power plants are part of Solek’s intention to build a giant 250 MWp DC power plant portfolio in Chile over three years. The largest contract announced last year as part of this intention is the development and construction of sources with the capacity of approximately 100 MWp DC for CarbonFree, an investment group of experienced Canadian investors. In addition to funds from North America, Solek invests hundreds of millions of Czech crowns provided by Czech investors in the projects.
Solek’s Chilean portfolio consists of individual power plants with the capacity of 3 to 10.66 MWp DC within the Pequeños Medios de Generación Distribuida programme (small renewable energy production plants), based on smaller sources up to 10.66 MWp DC. Three power plants built in Chile have been successfully launched to supply electricity to the grid.
More details on the currently launched constructions: Villa Seca (Maule Region, installed capacity of 2.99 MWp DC), Los Paltos (Valparaíso Region, installed capacity of 2.99 MWp DC) and Santa Fe (Maule Region, installed capacity of 10.66 MWp DC). The locations of the constructions are shown on the attached map.
