Prague/Santiago de Chile – October 11, 2019 – Solek Group finished the Villaseca photovoltaic power plant and connected it to the grid in the Maule region, south of the capital city of Santiago.
It’s been already the fourth finished project of Solek in Chile. This power plant is covered by a huge contract signed last year between Solek Group and CarbonFree Chile SpA, which is backed by experienced Canadian investors in renewable energy. The Villaseca’s installed capacity amounts to 2.99 MW.
“The newly finished project is the vanguard of the fleet with the capacity of up to 250 MW that we want to build in Chile in the next few years. At the same time, it is the first project launched out of this year’s total 26 MW. Further 14 MW are under construction and will be finished at the beginning of the next year,” said Zdeněk Sobotka, the founder and majority shareholder of Solek Group. “But apart from the Canadian and American financiers, we also think of the Czechs interested in green investments. They can participate with us in the investments in additional at least 100 MW of power plants within this package of Chilean projects, through a fund of qualified investors, Solek SICAV,” added Zdeněk Sobotka.
The Solek’s Chilean portfolio is composed of the individual power plants of 3 to 10.66 MWp DC within the Pequeños Medios de Generación Distribuida (small renewable energy plants) programme, which is based on smaller sources of up to 10.66 MWp DC. Three previously constructed power plants in Chile have already been successfully commissioned and feed the electricity into the grid.
